Daniel Delisle
Westfield MA
MFA in Illustration
A high school art teacher, track, and cross country coach, Mr. Delisle is doing all the things he loved in his youth. He still pole vaults, although he does confide that his vaults are executed in slow motion. He has six children and seven grandchildren who tend to find their images portrayed in his art. His dogs wade besides him in the swamps and sleep at the foot of the bed.
Two of his sons are wildlife biologists who have worked with venomous snakes, wolves, turtles, deer, and even salamanders. Delisle especially enjoys all the time spent in the field with his children and grandchildren.
Daniel Delisle believes that everyone has an inner awesome. He proposes that if we strive to be renaissance men and women we will be able to find and develop our own.
Delisle signs his paintings D. A. Delisle. He sometimes introduces himself as Dan, Danny, and Daniel. Dan, he explains is the average Joe, Danny is the fun loving guy, and Daniel is the serious one. D.A. must be the artist within.

Artist Statement
Daniel Delisle is an illustrator who loves to paint hunting, fishing, and wildlife scenes. Whenever he can incorporate water, dogs, and other animals into his paintings he is most satisfied. He calls his style romantic realism, as he includes his own sentimentality into his work. In creating each artwork, Delisle strives to add elements from his own experiences into the finished painting.
Delisle writes and illustrates short stories about hunting and fishing. His work has been published in Massachusetts Wildlife magazine. He has received the Best of Show and Presidents Choice awards along with some first place ribbons.
